
Lucid Dreaming is Said to Help Stop Frequent Nightmares and Allow A Person to Control His or Her Dreams
What Is Dream Control?
Dream control, or lucid dreaming is when you are completely aware that you are dreaming while you are doing so; and in control of the events which take place within the dream. Even while your body is sound asleep, your mind knows that you are dreaming and you are in the director’s chair for the proceedings.
People who suffer from frequent nightmares can find relief with dream control. Once they learn to use this powerful technique, they can vanquish the nightmares and return to restful sleep.
Common Techniques For Inducing Lucid Dreaming
A rather effective method known for achieving lucid dreaming involves the use of Binaural Audio, which entails listening to two different frequencies at the same time in order to synchronize the brain waves, bringing about a deep sense of relaxation, as well as the state in which lucid dreaming is possible – rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.
There are many other techniques which have been employed by experts in the field. Regardless of how one trains their mind to start using dream control, the idea in every case is to let the dreamer come to the awareness that they are dreaming and start to take control of their dreams.
This training begins while you are still awake. The goal is to remember to perform some kind of cue which will remind us that we are dreaming; this allows dream control to begin.
This can be as simple as telling yourself that you will be dreaming and that you will do or say a certain thing in the dream; which will tell you that you are dreaming, setting off a state of lucid dreaming.
This particular method to dream control is referred to as MILD, or mnemonic induction of lucid dreams, which was discovered by scientist Dr. Stephen LaBerge. With this approach, your brain is then in complete control as to what occurs in the dream, meaning that nothing could or would come of harm to you as it’s simply all in the mind and you are only limited by your own imagination.
You can also achieve lucid dreaming by means of keeping a dream diary. You’ll write down everything you can remember about your dreams immediate after awakening; this will train you to start remembering your dreams and being able to start using dream control. You’ll find that after using this technique for a while, you’ll be able to replay a recent dream; except this time, you’ll be in control.
You can beat back those nightmares, go anywhere, do anything and talk to anyone you want in these dreams. There are no limits except for your imagination to your dreams once you have mastered the techniques of dream control.
However, there can be too much of the good thing which is lucid dreaming. Dreams can tell us important things, according to psychologists. So while you should unlock your full potential to have lucid dreaming experiences, make sure to give yourself some time off now and then to have natural dreams.

Are “being real” and “escaping from reality” mutually exclusive states? I don't really think so. Kind of like two sides of the same coin, I feel. You can be very real (honest) to yourself in wanting to escape from the reality of your lived experience.

Some people take dreams for granted and don't understand what you can do with dreams. Since you have had very vivid and clear dreams this can work for you. I would like people to notice (Lucid Dreaming) or the ability to control dreams. when you were on the car trying to stop the car with the steering wheel, If you can realize it's a dream, you can overcome anything. you can DO anything, literally. I want people to try this. It is veeery addicting

Can Anyone Try Lucid Dreaming? –
Kristina, while most of the time my balance issues are slight (it feels like I'm walking on the deck of a ship), I did have one instance (episode) whereas I had a true vertigo attack where everything was spinning at a very high speed for approx 25 minutes. I did have nystagmus (rapid eye movement) following the vertigo attack but that has since subsided. My most persistent system up until now has been very bad pressure in my ears. I say until now because over the past 2-weeks that pressure has lessened although I'm also starting to feel some other symptoms. In regards to feeling “fluid”, as the pressure has subsided these past few weeks I started noticing this week the feeling of 'slushiness' when I lay on my side in bed. As for feeling inflammation in areas other than my head, the answer is yes, which is why I've decided to see a neurologist to see if there isn't something else going on.While it seems longer, it's only 7 weeks since my vertigo episode. I went thru a period post-episode whereas I was having difficulty getting thru day-to-day tasks. Those aren't a problem now although some of the other symptoms are becoming annoying (hence, going to have them checked out!).I honestly feel that when it comes to ones health, you need to be your own advocate. This is not to say that we should be getting our medical degrees from the University of Google (or your search engine of preference).
